Home insurance built for hurricane country

South Florida homes need South Florida coverage
A standard home policy from anywhere else in the country won't protect you here. Hurricane wind, named-storm deductibles, water intrusion, and the realities of older South Florida construction all affect what your coverage should actually look like.
We build policies around what your home actually faces — and we explain the deductibles, exclusions, and coverage gaps before there's a storm in the Gulf, not after.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my home insurance cover hurricane damage?
Wind damage from a hurricane is typically covered, but Florida policies use a separate hurricane deductible — usually 2% to 5% of your dwelling coverage — that's much higher than your standard deductible. Flooding from storm surge or rising water is NOT covered by a standard home policy and requires separate flood insurance. We walk through both before storm season, not during.
What's the difference between hurricane and flood coverage?
Hurricane coverage on your home policy pays for wind-driven damage — roof, windows, structure. Flood insurance is a completely separate policy (usually through NFIP) that covers rising water. In a hurricane, you can absolutely have both wind and flood damage in the same event, and you need both policies for full protection. We can write or refer flood coverage alongside your home policy.
Why did my home insurance premium go up so much?
Florida's homeowners insurance market has been one of the most volatile in the country, driven by hurricane losses, reinsurance costs, and litigation reform. Premiums have risen across nearly every carrier. The best response is an annual review — we look at deductibles, dwelling limits (rebuild cost, not market value), and available discounts to keep coverage strong without overpaying.
